Part 1: preparing for installation
Delete the folders and files
Sometimes you install a Joomla extension and your Joomla administrator panel crashes. You would like to immediately uninstall this extension but your Joomla administrator panel is not operable. What should you do? Let's take a look at this process in more detail. For the purpose of this tutorial, I will be deleting a component. Once you learn how to manually delete a Joomla component, you then will be able to apply the same steps to delete a Joomla module or a Joomla plugin.
Paranoid extra step: Delete data in the database
After launching any new Joomla application, your site will be filled with sample data sets. Your Joomla site will be full of Joomla information that comes in the form of featured articles, main and side menus, footer images, and various modules. We recommend clearing out all of the sample data sets so you get a fresh site that you build from the ground up. We feel that this the best way to learn how to use Joomla! It's important to follow the steps below in the order that they appear. Otherwise, you may not be able to delete all content. As you first visit your recently launched Joomla application, you will notice that the site is already full of information. This information is referred to as sample data sets. You can being clearing all content by clearing all asrticles within your Joomla site.
To install the Joomla! Make sure that you have your customer ID nic-handle and password so you can log in to your OVHcloud customer account if necessary. The file that you download will usually be compressed zipped so you have to be able to extract the files to your computer. There is lots of help available online. There are a number of tutorials and types of decompression software available online to help with this. Check them out if you are stuck at this stage.
